Q. Can all metals be Powder Coated?

A.  All metals with the exception of Powdered Metals can be coated. Powdered metals are used to make emblems and can vaporize during the curing process.

A.  Powder Coating is chemical resistant, chip resistant, and UV protected. The average life span of powder is anywhere from 5 to 15 years depending on the abuse it sees.

Q.  Are there different prices for different colors?

A.  All solid colors are priced the same. The only time there is any up-charge is if the project requires a 2 step process where there is a base coat powder and then a top coat of either clear powder or a candy powder. If the part is chrome plated the candy colors become a 1 step and there is no up- charge. the up-charge for a 2 step process is 30% more

Q.  How expensive is Powder Coating to have done?

A.  Powder Coating is much less than plating and usually half the cost of paint. The reason for this is there is no haz-mat involved with powder, and the prep process is not as lengthy as the plating process and paint.

Q.  How many colors do I have to choose from?

A.  At the current time there are over 400 outdoor colors to choose from including Candy, Metallic and Textured colors.

A.  It usually takes no more than 2 weeks to get your parts back from the time we receive them.

Q.  What is included in the price quote?

A.  All of our pricing is for the entire job. That would include stripping, bead blasting, phosphate coating, masking critical areas, plugging threaded holes, capping studs, coating, curing and packaging, the only additional cost would be for shipping which is done at cost.

Q.  How do I pay for my job?

A.  Payment can be made by cash, check, money order, Visa and Mastercard. We require a 50% deposit with the order and final payment when the job is done.

Q.  How do I know that the color I choose is the one I really want?

A.  If you are unsure of your color choice and cannot come to the shop, we will send you sample panels to look at free of charge so that you can be sure everything will match.

Q.  If I do some parts now and more parts months or a year later will the color match up?

A.  Yes, one of the many great things about powder is that the colors are stable and do not vary from lot to lot or from different suppliers.

Q.  Does the pricing include any masking?

A.  Yes, we mask all gasket and bearing areas and plug all threaded and bushing holes as well as cap any threaded studs at no additional charge. This allows for better fit and no problem with threads that have to be chased with a tap and would make make your assembly time that much longer.

Q.  Is custom masking available as well?

A.  Yes, we do custom masking al the time such as lettering on valve covers, logos, fins on valve covers lettering on intake manifolds just to name a few. Pricing is based on the type of project.
